Roseline woke up from her sleep when the morning sun hit the sky. She rubbed her eyes and saw the empty bed beside her.
Victor is nowhere to be seen. Even the other side of the bed is neat, which means he didn't come last night.
She frowned, confused as to why he hadn't come to the room. She was thinking about it when the door opened and he came inside.
"Where were you?" She asks, getting up from bed.
"Gone for a walk." He replied with a fake smile.
"In a tuxedo?" She asked, and he was caught off guard.
"I-I......"
"You didn't come last night. Where were you, Victor? Why didn't you come into our room?" She asked worriedly.
Listening to her questions, his eyes turned dark, and he clenched his jaw.
"I don't like to be questioned." He said it with gritted teeth, and Roseline gulped nervously, seeing the sudden change in his personality.
"I was just......."
"I said I don't like to be questioned." He said that while cutting her off in a bit of a harsh tone. "Don't you understand what I said?"
"Victor, I was worried." She shuddered because no one had ever talked to her like this.
Seeing her trembling state, he controlled himself and lied, "I'm sorry, Roseline. Actually, I was nervous, and this place and room are new. I was not ready. I'm sorry." He faked it and apologized to her.
And naively, she trusted his words and said, "It's ok, Victor. I can understand. It's just that I was worried about you."
"Thanks for understanding me." He replied with a fake smile, which she thought was genuine. "I'll go and freshen up."
He excused himself in the bathroom, and after that, they both came downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning, Dad."
"Morning Dada." Both wish good morning to Jacob.
"Morning, my children. Come, let's have breakfast." Jacob replied, and they joined him.
After breakfast, Jacob said, "Here, this is your wedding present." He said that while giving him a parcel.
"What is this, dad?" He asks.
"See for yourself." Jacob replied.
He opened it and saw the papers for his promotion to CEO of the company. He can't believe his own eyes that it's real.
"Oh, my God! Dad. Thank you so much." He exclaimed happily.
"Congratulations." Roseline congratulates him, smiling.
"That's not just that; there is more." Jacob said, and he saw there was one more envelope in it.
Victor opened it and saw it's a honeymoon package for Greece.
"Dad, we can't go. There is so much work going on in the office. You know that, and I have more responsibilities now." Victor said, and Roseline's heart dropped again because the morning's incident was still fresh in her mind.
She can't digest the fact that he lied to her if he doesn't feel at home here, and now he is avoiding going on a honeymoon with her.
"I will take care of everything here. Not to forget, I'm still your boss, and I ordered you to enjoy your married life." Jacob said it sternly and then gave him a polite smile.
"As you say, Dad." He said it with fake respect, but internally, he is cursing him because he doesn't want to go anywhere with Roseline. "Pack your bags, Roseline; we have to leave at night." He said, and she nodded excitedly because this is the first time, after her mother's death, she is going somewhere, not with her father.
"I go and wrap up things in the office." Victor said and then left for the office.
Tiffany is already waiting for him. The moment he stepped in, she engulfed him in her arms and claimed his lips.
He returned with the same passion and hunger.
"God! I missed you, babe." She said this when he left her lips.
"I missed you too, sweetheart." He replied, sucking her neck and squeezing her buttocks.
"Ummmmmmmmmm." She moaned, throwing her head back in pleasure. "Are you ready for your honeymoon?" She asked sarcastically, and he fisted her handful of hair. "Sssssss." She hissed in pain.
"You know I don't want to go." He said it in a pissed-out tone.
"I know, baby." She chuckled and held his dick over his pants. "That's why I already take care of that."
"What?" he asked, confused.
"You will find out soon." She replied, pecking his lips and leaving his dick.
"Fuck." He groaned in frustration.
She giggled and said, "Patience, babe. We have the whole night for fuck because you are not going anywhere."
"That's my b*tch." He smirked, and she left him.
After a few minutes, he got a call from Jacob and went to his cabin.
"Yes, dad?" He asks, stepping inside.
"Uh! My boy. How could I say this? But." Jacob hesitated.
"What happened, dad?" He insisted.
"The thing is. I have to go to London for an important deal, so you have to be here to take care of everything." Jacob said, and he faked a sad face, but internally he was dancing and knew that Tiffany was behind everything. "I'm so sorry, son."
"It's ok, dad. Work is important. We will go after you come back, and I know Roseline will understand that too." He replied, and Jacob nodded with a sad smile because he knew how excited his princess was about it.
They both came back home, and seeing them coming, Roseline ran to them, "Packing is done." She said it excitingly.
"We are not going anywhere." Victor replied, and her smile dropped.
"Huh?" Her heart broke.
"I'm so sorry, Rose." Jacob interrupted, and she turned to her father, and he said, "I have to go on a business trip, so Victor has to stay here to take care of everything." Jacob said, and she nodded sadly.
"I'm so... "
"It's ok, Dada." She cut her father off and went to her room.
Jacob's heart clenched upon seeing her sad face.
"It's ok, dad. I will talk to her and take care of her." Victor assured him.
"I know, son," Jacob replied, leaving for London.
"I have to go to the office for an important meeting." Victor said to her the moment Jacob left.
"At this hour?" She asks.
"I wouldn't if it's not important." He said that, and she nodded sadly.
After he went, she was left alone in her huge, empty mansion. She is afraid because she has never stayed alone.
Dobby came to her, and she slept while hugging him.
The next morning, when Victor came back, Dobby snarled after seeing him and ran to bite him, but Victor was quick enough to hit him.
He whimpers in pain when Roseline wakes up from her sleep. Victor is about to kick him again when Roseline hurriedly comes between.
"Victor, what are you doing?" She yelled in disbelief.
"Keep this bastard away from me." He yelled back, and Roseline was taken aback by his words. Realizing his behavior, he instantly changed the topic.
"I was already awake the whole night because of work, and now he is trying to bite me. This is not the way anyone likes to start his or her morning. Roseline, if he can't bear me, then keep him away from me, or I will kill him." Saying this, he stormed out of the room.
Roseline is in utter shock because, since yesterday morning, she has witnessed a new Victor. Like he switched his personality in a snap.
But Dobby's whimpering brings her back, and she instantly holds him and rubs his back to make him feel better.
Victor didn't come back home the whole day, not even at night.
She is worried, so she calls him. After many calls, he finally picked it up.
"Hello, Victor, Where are you?" She asked, worriedly.
"In office." He lied because he was with Tiffany.
"Why? You shouldn't tire yourself. Please come home; it's already the weekend." She pleaded.
"I'm tired, Roseline, and I can't handle your dog's bullshit." He said it annoyingly, and she felt a pang of hurt in her heart.
Listening to him, her heart broke because she loved Dobby and also understood Victor's point.
'Obviously, he was so stressed because of his workload, and Dobby always annoys him.' She thought.
"Victor I apologize, but please come home and have some rest. I'll lock Dobby in his room." She said it with a heavy heart.
"Fine, I'm coming." He cut the call. "I have to go." He said this to Tiffany.
"But baby."
"Don't worry, come there with some excuse. Okay." He said that, and she smirked.
He came back home, didn't talk much with Roseline, and said, "I'm tired; please don't disturb me." He said that, and she nodded.
The whole day he didn't talk to her; she tried to start a conversation, but he changed the topic by saying he was tired and she was feeling sad that where was Victor, who likes to talk to her? Because the day they were married, he didn't even look at her properly, and talking is far from away.
In the night, when she came to her room, he left, saying that he had some work to do in the study.
She is left alone in her room, but sleep is nowhere in her eyes. She felt thirsty and saw the empty bottle on the table.
She goes downstairs to drink water. Her heart said to have a look at him and see if he was OK. Because he was tired and still working.
She goes to study, and the door is already half open. She peeked inside, and seeing the view in front of her eyes, the land slipped through her feet, and her world turned upside down.
